Psychoeducational Assessments:

Under the direct supervision of a member of the College of Psychologists, Dr. Ages provides a comprehensive psychoeducational assessment that consists of a review of historical data, interviews, intelligence testing, and an assessment of academic skills and emotional functioning. The psychoeducational evaluation may be used to establish whether a learning disability is present; determine whether a person meets diagnostic criteria for ADHD or social emotional/behavioural concerns that pertain to learning; and provide academic or career direction based on an individual's profile of strengths and weaknesses. Under the direct supervision of a member of the College of Psychologists, Dr. Ages also conducts gifted screening evaluations to assess a child's eligibility for a gifted academic program.
 

Consultation:

Dr. Ages assists children and adolescents who present with concerns regarding behaviour management, self-esteem, social skills and learning disabilities. She works with children and adolescents to develop effective communication and problem solving skills in order to effectively cope with many different environmental stressors. Dr. Ages also provides parents with the skills and capabilities to address their children’s behavioural challenges such as social skills and anger management.
 

Study Skills Coaching:

Dr. Ages offers individual and group study skills coaching for all ages. She develops a study skills curriculum specific to her clients’ learning style, focusing on the following skills: time management, organization, note-taking, reading and test taking. She also coaches her clients’ with regards to assistive technology that will support their specific learning profile and improve their study skills, motivation and self-esteem. Furthermore, Dr. Ages consults with schools regarding study skills curriculum and conducts study skills workshops with students, parents, teachers and other school personnel.
 

Professional Workshops Services:

Dr. Ages provides professional workshops to students, schools, parents, mental health facilities, day care centers and mental health professionals on a wide variety of pertinent topics that affect children and adolescents. Common topics include behaviour management in the classroom and at home, sensory integration dysfunction, learning disabilities, working with ADHD children and study skills.
